Condo Moving
Service Overview (Intro)
Condo Moving Services in Vancouver
Condo moving is different from apartment or house moves. In addition to transporting your belongings, it requires coordination with building management, adherence to strata rules, and careful timing around elevator access and shared spaces.
Eco Van Move provides condo moving services for owners and residents living in high-rise and strata-managed buildings across Metro Vancouver. Our service is designed for moves where planning, communication, and on-site professionalism are essential.
Condo moving is part of our residential moving services and is best suited for owner-occupied units and professionally managed buildings throughout Downtown Vancouver, Yaletown, Brentwood, Metrotown, and surrounding areas.
Strata Rules & Elevator Coordination
Strata Rules, Elevator Booking & Building Coordination
Most condo buildings require advance notice for move-ins and move-outs. These rules often include elevator reservations, approved moving hours, padding requirements, and restrictions on loading areas.
We regularly work in strata-managed buildings and understand the importance of:
- Coordinating elevator bookings within approved time windows
- Following the building move-in and move-out procedures
- Respecting common areas such as hallways and lobbies
- Communicating clearly with concierges and building managers
If your building has two elevators, it is recommended to reserve at least one for your move. If there is only one elevator, confirm booking requirements and approved time slots as early as possible, especially during month-end, weekends, holidays, or rushhours.
Note: Some condo strata rules may not allow moving on weekends or holidays. Before booking your move date, please confirm approved moving times with your strata or building management. If this has not been done yet, you may do so shortly after making your reservation and request a date change if needed, at no extra cost, provided the change is made as soon as possible due to limited availability.
Urban Access & Condo-Friendly Transport
Urban Access & Condo-Friendly Transport
Many condo buildings have underground parkades, height restrictions, or designated loading zones. Our experience with urban condo environments allows us to operate efficiently within these constraints.
Using a cargo van for condo moves can be especially practical in buildings with limited loading access, tight parkades, or strict entry points, helping moves stay within approved access areas and scheduled time frames.
Packing, Boxes & Move Preparation
Packing, Reusable Boxes & Condo Move Preparation
Condo moves benefit from organized packing and controlled handling, particularly when moving through elevators and shared spaces. We offer reusable moving box rentals for residents who want a cleaner, stackable, and more organized setup.
To prepare for a condo move, we recommend:
- Confirming elevator booking dates and time windows with strata
- Reviewing any padding or protection requirements
- Packing items fully before move day
- Labeling boxes clearly for efficient unloading
- Notifying building management of your scheduled move

Requesting a Condo Moving Estimate
Condo moves require advance planning. We recommend requesting a quote through our moving estimate page so details such as unit size, elevator access, loading conditions, and item volume can be reviewed in advance.
Why Booking Early Matters
Condo moves often book up quickly, particularly at the end of the month, on weekends, and during holidays. Booking early helps secure your preferred date and allows sufficient time to coordinate with strata requirements.
Why Condo Owners Choose Eco Van Move
Condo owners choose Eco Van Move for our professional conduct, punctuality, and clear pricing and communication. We understand how important it is to follow building rules, respect shared spaces, and complete moves efficiently without disrupting other residents.
Condo Moving FAQ
Condo Moving FAQ
Do condo moves require elevator booking?
In most strata-managed buildings, yes. Elevator reservations are commonly required and must be booked in advance through building management or strata. Approved moving hours and padding requirements may also apply.
Do you coordinate with strata or building management?
We work within your building’s strata rules and approved moving schedule. Elevator bookings and move approvals must be arranged by the resident or owner, but we follow all on-site procedures once access is confirmed.
Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI)?
Many condo buildings require proof of insurance before approving a move. We carry commercial liability insurance, and a Certificate of Insurance can be provided upon request if required by your strata.
Are condo moves different from apartment moves?
Yes. Condo moves typically involve stricter rules, scheduled elevator access, and coordination with strata or concierge staff. Apartment moves are usually renter-focused and may involve walk-ups or less formal building procedures.
What happens if my building only has one elevator?
Buildings with a single elevator often have limited moving windows. It’s important to confirm approved dates and times early, especially during month-end, weekends, or holidays, as availability can fill up quickly.
Do you offer smaller condo moves?
Yes. For partial condo moves or limited inventories, this service works well. If you are moving only a few items, you may also want to review our Small Moves & Micro-Moves service.
